Benefactor Nicholas Bratt completed his studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at the University of Oxford in 1967. He birthed this scholarship in 2013, in order to finance the studies of graduate scholars.

One full scholarship is available for applicants who are applying to any full-time taught or research course offered by the Medical Sciences Division and accepted at St John’s College. Nicholas Bratt Graduate Scholarship covers course fees and provides a funding for living expenses. Awards are prepared for the complete period of your fee liability for the agreed course.

All eligible Nicholas Bratt Graduate Scholarship at University of Oxford applicants will be considered for the scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) you state as your preference on the graduate application form. Though, successful candidates will be transferred to St John’s College in order to take up the scholarship.

It is a very popular college for graduates, who make up about 40% of the student community. The college places a great worth on the influences made by graduate students. Interaction between graduates and full-time academics is warmly encouraged and the College Advisor system, independent of academic supervision, fosters close links with the Senior Common Room (SCR).   • Except otherwise indicated, you will be considered automatically for these scholarships if:
  • You are applying to begin a fresh graduate course;
  • You submit your course application by the appropriate January admissions deadline;
  • You are then given a place after consideration of applications gotten by the deadline;
  • Your application is not put on a waiting list or seized back after the January admissions deadline to be re-assessed against applications gotten by the March admissions deadline; and
  • You meet the eligibility criteria.

There is no separate application process for Nicholas Bratt Graduate Scholarship at University of Oxford: to be considered, submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course.
