The Western Oregon University Scholarship started admitting international students for the academic year 2021-2022. It takes foreign scholars with leadership abilities, and an extraordinary academic history who desire to pursue their education at the University of Oregon.

This program also includes cultural service components. The selected applicants will obtain tuition scholarship award but in exchange, they will have to provide at least 80 hours/academic session of cultural and educational service at the state of Oregon.

Foreign students displaying financial difficulties and excellent merit are encouraged to apply to take part in Western Oregon University’s International Cultural Service Program (ICSP). Applicants selected to take part in the ICSP obtain scholarship aid which is applied to their tuition. Please note that the scholarship assistance offered by this program is only a partial scholarship of approximately $9,000 per academic year. Beneficiaries will still be accountable for covering the remaining tuition and living expenses with funds from other sources. Scholarship grants from ICSP discount tuition, but cannot be modified to help with living costs or books. In return for this discount in tuition, ICSP candidates are expected to complete 80 hours each year of cultural service. This service generally takes the form of speaking about your country to local school classes and community groups. A measure for selection is centred on demonstrated financial need and academic history. A diversity of representative countries on the program may also be criteria for selection. Applicants are encouraged to provide as much information as possible about their financial support cultural service plan.
