The University of Groningen is offering Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award to students from developing countries wishing to undertake their master’s program in Holland. The University of Groningen an academic institution which is a top 100 research university with a worldwide outlook. The University is currently rated 80th in the Times Higher Education ranking and provides more than 30 English-taught Bachelor’s programs and more than 125 Master’s programs. Established in 1614, the academic institution is one of the oldest research universities in the Netherlands. It is truly an international academic institution, with more than 30,000 students and 6,000 foreign students from over 120 different nationalities. The University carries out revolutionary and socially significant research and its research builds bridges between disciplines. This institution is a very good ground for the Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award candidates.

About Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award: The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences. The scholarship award is made for foreign scholars from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their master’s in Holland.

Eligibility for Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award

 Candidates for the Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award:

  1. Have obtained conditional admission to the program of choice (see:www.rug.nl/masters/alphabetical )
  2. Have excellent academic performance, preferably to be confirmed by letters of recommendation
  3. Have excellent grades during their bachelor/undergraduate studies;
  4. Have excellent English language proficiency, in accordance with the admission requirements of the program of choice
  5. Be available for the whole period of the programme and be able to take part in the entire programme
  6. Be in a good state of health, so that health insurance in the Hold the nationality of a country appearing in Appendix 1.
  7. Have no other means of financing the study in question

Benefits of Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award

The grant covers tuition fee, costs of international travel, subsistence, books, and health insurance.  Please be aware that an extensive number of students apply for this scholarship award every year, whereas the University can issue only a limited number of grants.

Duration of Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award : The grant is awarded for a 1 year or 2 years Master’s degree program.

How to Apply for Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award 

  • The academic institution (University of Groningen) AdmissionOffice, in meeting with the Admission Boards of its faculties, will decide which candidates will be nominated for an Eric Bleumink Scholarship Award
  • Only applicants that have received a (conditional) admission offer for a master program before February can thus be considered. In order to allow for enough time to process the application to a master program by the Admission Office, such a master application should be completed by the applicant before 1st of December.
