Chevening CLORE Fellowship by UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office is a partnership between the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Clore Leadership, presenting mid-career professionals in the arts and culture region an outstanding opportunity to embark on an individually fashioned leadership program in the UK.

A Chevening CLORE Fellowship by UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office includes a training budget of up to £18,500 to cover:

Eligibility for Chevening CLORE Fellowship by UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office

Applications are invited from persons from the following nations:

  • Brazil
  • China
  • Egypt
  • India
  • Jordan
  • Lebanon
  • Mexico
  • South Africa

To be eligible for a Chevening CLORE Fellowship by UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, applicants must:

  • Aim to return to the country they were chosen from at the conclusion of the period of study.
  • Have a degree that is equal to at least a good UK second-class honors degree or have equivalent professional training and/or experience.
  • Have completed at least five years’ (or higher as required by Clore Leadership) work, or equivalent experience, by the end of 2021.
  • Have not already accepted or be accepting monetary benefit from an HMG funded fellowship.
  • Fulfill the minimum requirements in line with the main fellowships scheme.
  • Not possess double nationality where one nationality is British (other than for nationals exempt from this requirement itemized in the Chevening Guidance for Applicants).
  • Should not be employees, employees’ families (or past employees who have left employment less than two years before) of Her Majesty’s Government including the FCDO (including FCDO Posts), the British Council, BIS, MOD, UKTI and UKBA, the Association of Commonwealth Universities, or the Clore Leadership Program or any of their wholly-owned subsidiaries.

How to Apply for Chevening CLORE Fellowship by UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office

The Fellowship starts in March 2022, with fellows travelling between their home country and the UK to undertake the 1st fellowship residential in March 2022 and then returning to the UK in May 2022 to undertake the majority of the fellows’ individual training and development programmes, including; workshops, their secondments, mentoring, attendance at courses and conferences, and the 2nd Fellowship residential course. The fellowship will be accomplished by 30 September 2022.
